My Story
Lori Harmon MSN RN NCSN
Lori Harmon, MSN RN NCSN, has been a nurse for 30 years and a school nurse since 2001. Lori received her master’s degree in leadership and management from Western Governors University and has her National Certification in School Nursing. She is currently working at Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri. Lori is most proud of her work with substance abuse education for school nurses and educators across the states. Lori is a member of the Southwest Missouri Association of School Nurses, the Missouri Association of School Nurses, and the National Association of School Nurses. Lori is a member of the National Education Association, the Missouri National Education Association, and the Springfield National Education Association. She serves as the Executive Director for the Professional School Nurses with the Springfield National Education Association, advocating for school nurses in her school district by sitting on various committees and acting as a lead speaker on the bargaining team. She recently received the 2023 Horace Mann Friends of Education Award for Education Support Personnel from the Missouri National Education Association. She will represent Missouri as a nominee for the 2024 National Education Association ESP of the Year Award in March. Lori is a Red Cross CPR instructor and serves on her school safety team. Lori volunteers at her local community theatre and enjoys supporting the local arts foundations. Lori enjoys spending time with her family, warm days by the pool, and vacationing on a cruise ship.
